Copper Link Coin Charm Dangle Bracelet with Iolite

Rustic copper link coin charm bracelet. Everything in this bracelet is handmade! all metal parts are pure copper, the coin charms are hammered with European coins – a German Pfennig, Euro and a Swiss Franc. Reverse side of the charm has nice copper patina. The coin charms are coated with a clear coat to prevent tarnishing. All the other copper parts are flamed for some interesting color variation.  The coin discs were hand cut from copper sheet and individually impressed with a real coin. Blue bead dangles are iolite, the gem of the Vikings.

Iolite: gem of the Vikings

When Leif Eriksson and the other legendary Viking explorers ventured far out into the Atlantic Ocean, away from any coastline that could help them determine their position, they had a secret gem weapon: iolite. Iolite used in this bracelet is very rough, in keeping with the style of the bracelet. Iolite comes in many variations of quality, and high quality iolite can be lustrously purple blue. Have you ever noticed how deep bodies of water sometimes look blue, but that same water looks clear in shallow depths or from different angles? High quality iolite can be expensive and have a Pleochroic qualities that cause it to look different shades depending on the viewing angle.
