Green Open Teardrop Enameled Copper Earrings

Green open teardrop earrings, partly enameled with a torch, nice shades of light aqua green with accent tips earrings. Rustic with a classic shape with some nice fire patina. This green enamel teardrop earrings is the perfect every day teardrop hoop – always a customer favorite!

I handcraft the enamel jewelry in my studio. There is a lot of sanding and torching involved! The items are fired with a torch using the dipping and dangling method with several layers of enamel, one at a time. It is a careful process and requires a steady hand! I handcraft the earwires out of jewelry grade (surgical) stainless steel wire.

WHAT IS ENAMELED COPPER?

Enameling is glass fused to copper at high heat. Enamels are finely ground glass, like fine sand, also referred to as vitreous enamel. Enameled copper has a durable, glossy finish that doesn’t fade under ultraviolet light. Enamels may be opaque or transparent, the colors come from the use of various oxides. Enameled surface is durable and has a variety of color effects depending on angle of light.

Enameled jewelry can be cleaned with water and a mild detergent if needed. Please do not drop onto a hard surface like tile or cement as this may cause chipping just like if you dropped a piece of glass jewelry.
