Copper patina verdigris large hoop earrings, rustic handmade copper earrings created with pure copper. This patina is grown naturally and has always a completely unique end result. This particular pair has a nice blue green verdigris color result. (This pair seems to have “magical” qualities – they turn blue through the camera lens even though in natural light they are really green, almost emerald. I modified the color in some of the pics to make it look more accurate, but it’s almost impossible to capture.) These copper patina earrings have that organic rustic finish with a classic shape and beautiful color!
The copper shapes are 1 3/8 inches, total earring length is 2 1/4 inches. Handcrafted stainless steel earwires. (hypoallergenic)
This pair of copper patina earrings starts with pure copper hoop shapes that then get patinated with methods that grow patina slowly and naturally. They are finished with high grade jewelry clear coat.
Copper takes on patina beautifully in the nature when it is exposed to the elements of rain and moisture. This natural process can be accelerated by using all natural “exposing” methods, with the help of household ingredients, usually vinegar and salt. This process can take anywhere from a couple of days to a week. Copper is then rinsed and let dry and finally coated with a clear coat to seal in the patina. It is a method to create beautiful natural artistic jewelry.
