Mermaid tail earrings, pure copper flame painted with a torch for color. I handcraft the copper shape, after they are all sanded and buffed I hand paint them using a torch. The coloring on the copper is produced with hand torch flame, the technique is called flame painting. There is no artificial color on these copper ocean inspired earrings. Every pair is unique and has a handcrafted feel to them.

The look of natural flame painted copper changes according to the light and how it reflects from the surface. Copper flame painting is a process where colors and patterns are created on copper, not with paints or chemicals, but by the manipulation of torch flame creating oxygen molecules on the surface of the piece. The size of the copper mermaid tail is 1 1/8 x 3/4″.
