Blue green patina earrings, rustic long rectangle with naturally created organic patina. These copper patina earrings are produced naturally with the exposing method. (copper is suspended in a container with fumes of vinegar and sometimes other natural ingredients) These copper earrings have that popular ultra rustic look, like you just found them on a rustic beach by the ocean.

The copper shapes are 1 1/2 inches, total length 2″. Coated with high grade jewelry clear coat. Handcrafted stainless steel or sterling silver earwires. Pictures have a couple of pairs to show variation. Please message if you would like pictures of the actual pair.

I hand cut these copper shapes and form then using hand tools. After that I expose them to fumes of ammonia and salt in a sealed container for a couple of days to grow this very unique patina. The patina grows naturally and the result is always one of a kind. The copper shapes are coated with high grade jewelry clear coat to seal in the patina.

WHAT IS NATURAL PATINA

Copper takes on patina beautifully in the nature when it is exposed to the elements of rain and moisture. This natural process can be accelerated by using all natural “exposing” methods, with the help of household ingredients, usually vinegar and salt. This process can take anywhere from a couple of days to a week. Copper is then rinsed and let dry and finally coated with a clear coat to seal in the patina. It is a method to create beautiful natural artistic jewelry.
