This “Kivet” fabric is a classic from Marimekko’s most famous designer Maija Isola. The color is two tone lime green. Finnish for “pebbles”, the perfectly imperfect circles of Marimekko Kivet is beloved worldwide and is one of Maija Isola’s most popular patterns
Handmade in my artisan studio. Set of four (4) fabric coasters, pure cotton with no batting or other lining. This is a larger size to accommodate many different drinkware (about 4 1/2″ square).
These are perfect for the cocktail hour or to have in your bar room to protect your table from wine or cocktail spills, and to provide sophistication and style. Washable 100% cotton, just throw them in with your wash.
Please note that Marimekko cottons should be washed in hot water, at least for the first few times. There is often some remaining dye on fabrics from the factory. This is how Marimekko lists the care instructions:
“Wash separately in plenty of water the first few times to remove any excess dye that may have remained on the fabric surface. Do not soak, machine wash hot at 140F/60C, do not use chlorine bleach, do not tumble dry, iron hot, dry clean allowed.”
Handcrafted in Coastal Maine.
