Copper Blue Natural Patina Shell Necklace, naturally grown patina on copper, coated with highest quality jewelry clear coat to seal in the patina.  Handcrafted from pure copper sheet, formed and shaped using hand tools. This mussel shell necklace was inspired by a real mussel shell found on the beach. It has texture that was hammered on and then patina. Great dark patina look, like the blue mussel!

The copper mussel shell shape is 3 inches long. Black leather cording that is knotted surfer style so you can adjust the length – all the way down to short near neck or up to about 26″ long. If you want chain instead please message me.

WHAT IS NATURAL PATINA

Copper takes on patina beautifully in the nature when it is exposed to the elements of rain and moisture. This natural process can be accelerated by using all natural “exposing” methods, with the help of household ingredients, usually vinegar/ammonia and salt. This process can take anywhere from a couple of days to a week. Copper is rinsed and let dry and finally coated with a clear coat to seal in the patina. It is a method to create beautiful natural artistic jewelry.
